Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Player the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and were in contact with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Claims Shared on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Currently Not on File

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.

Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles

Rice was absent for the first six games of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left multiple people hurt. Rice was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
